Eligibility:
Post-docs with bioinformatics expertise to work in a variety of cancers including acute myeloid leukemia, multiple myeloma, and gastric cancer.
The ideal candidate possesses a doctoral degree and demonstrates proficiency in next generation sequencing problems including:
- Quality control of NGS data.
- Detection of SNVs and SVs from whole genome, whole exome, targeted exome, and RNA-seq data.
- Somatic mutation calling.
- RNA-seq data analysis.
- Familiarity with BWA, Bowtie, GATK, Samtools, TopHat/Cufflinks, R/BioConductor, and a major programming language (e.g. C++, Java).
- Ability to implement next generation sequencing pipelines in parallelized environments.
- Knowledge of statistics and machine learning for gene expression, classification, and GWAS-related disease contexts.
- A translational interest in pushing genomics to improve cancer outcomes.
